April is a "tweener" month. It’s partly between winter and spring. Days are getting longer and temperatures starting to warm. Some days are beautiful, then winter will sneak another late-season storm in and dump 5 more inches of snow on the ground. This is your last chance to get in great downhill skiing and snowmobiling. There are many fun events on tap for April as well. Here’s the line-up for events this monthl:
April – 2006
April 5: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Set in the Roaring '20's, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes tells the story of a fun-loving gold-digger Lorelei Lee and her whacky cruise to Paris with chum Dorothy Shaw. Pinedale Fine Arts Council Season Ticket event. Adults $12, Students $7. Pinedale High School Auditorium, 7:30 pm.
April 8: Hard Hats & Stetsons Fundraiser for the Green River Valley Museum in Big Piney, 6 pm. Tickets $10 at the door or from local stores.
April 8: Big Piney 2006 Health Fair Big Piney High School Gymnasium, 9 am to 1 pm. Sponsored by Nurses for the Health of It and Sublette County EMS-Big Piney. The Mobile Mammogram will be in town the 7th and 8th at the Big Piney High School parking lot.
April 12: "Stay Safe in Bear, Lion and Wolf Country" WY Game & Fish Workshop Sublette County Library in Pinedale, 6:30-9:30 pm.
April 15: Rendezvous Meadows Golf Course opens for the season.
April 20: Candidate’s forum for Pinedale Mayor and Town Council Candidates Rendezvous Pointe, 6 pm. Sponsored by the Sublette Group for Community Initiative.
April 22: Consignment Auction Sublette County Fairgrounds, 9 am. Tools, guns, antiques, tack, machinery, Indian artifacts, misc.
April 22: Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation 4th annual Sublette Chapter Big Game Banquet and FundraiserRocky Mountain Elk Foundation 4th annual Sublette Chapter Big Game Banquet and Fundraiser at the Sublette County Ice Arena, 5:00 pm. All proceeds go to RMEF to benefit elk and other wildlife habitat. Tickets sold out.
April 27: Bar J Wranglers Pinedale Auditorium, 7 pm. Tickets $15.00. Fundraiser for Sublette County Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
