March 10 deadline for BTNF Forest Plan comments
February 22, 2006
The public has until Friday, March 10th, to submit comments on the Bridger-Teton National Forestís (BTNF) draft framework of desired conditions, which serves as the base for the revised forest plan.
The draft framework is viewable online at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/btnf/news/forest_plan_revision/round_2.shtml
This is the next step in the forest plan revision process by the Plan Revision Team. Last fall, they created a comment database and organized and reviewed all the comments received through Round 1.
With Round 2, the team plans to review the Framework with the public to learn whether anything from Round 1 was inadequately or incorrectly addressed. They also want the publicís help in identifying meaningful measures of progress toward these Desired Conditions.
When completed, this Framework should represent a complete set of Desired Conditions for the BTNF, expressed as criteria and indicators that evaluate how the Forest is being managed for sustainability.
