February 6, 2006
Founded in Chicago in 1997, the Fry Street Quartet (FSQ) radiates exuberance and energy. At Isaac Stern’s invitation, the quartet gave its Carnegie Hall debut on the Alexander Schneider Young Artists Series at Weill Hall in a performance that "spoke of precision, preparation, excitement, profound heritage, and ultimate satisfaction (The New York Concert Review.)"
A performance at the 92nd Street Y in New York was hailed by the New York Times as a "triumph of ensemble playing." Prizewinners at the 2004 Banff International String Quartet Competition, the FSQ also won the top prizes at both the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the Yellow Springs Competition.
