Our spring run-off is upon us!! The Green and New Fork are both blown out and will be for a while. If we get a few cool days, the Green will clear and should fish. Use bright colored streamers for best results. Boulder Lake is great. Lots of nice rainbows in the inlet area as well as the outlet. I would suggest Boulder over Soda this year. Soda had another winter kill so the population is low! The Green below Fontenelle Reservoir is flowing 780 cfs and is fishing great. The river is clear, and we are starting to see a few fish feeding on caddis. Nymph fishing through the runs with Pheasant Tails and Scuds in the 14 to 16 size range is producing some nice trout. Streamers like Big Horn Buggers and Brown Zuddlers have been working great below the runs for browns. Get out and
enjoy spring fishing in Wyoming!
Tight Lines, P.S. If you have a good fish story, or any questions on fly fishing, e-mail me at 2rivers@trib.com. I always like to hear about the big one that got away! |
