Holiday Wreath & Chocolate Auction Dec. 6th
by Pinedale Online!
November 30, 2024
The Museum of the Mountain Man will host their 31st annual Holiday Wreath and Chocolate Auction on Friday, December 6th in the Lovatt Room of the Pinedale Library. There will be free food and drinks during the social from 6-7PM. The live auction starts at 7PM. People from the community donate beautiful hand-made wreaths and holiday centerpieces for the event. Attendees will get a chance to pick their favorite wreath to be designated as this year’s People’s Choice creation. This event is free to attend. It is one of the Museum’s main fundraisers for their 2025 programs and projects.
There will also be a silent auction during the event with hand-made chocolate delights and holiday cookies in decorative cookie jars. The silent auction bidding will be entirely online, ending Friday evening of the wreath auction. The website for the silent auction chocolate delights will go live on Monday, December 2nd. Items will be added all week as they are delivered up until auction starts, so check back often. The silent auction can be found at www.mmmauctions.com – register to bid. Keep checking back to make sure your bid is current for the items you are hoping to get. There is often fun competition for items by fan favorite cooks and chocolatiers!
Started in 1993, the Museum’s Holiday Wreath Auction event has become a highlight for the Christmas season in Sublette County. Auctioneer for this year’s wreath auction is Jay Fear, a Sublette County Historical Society Board of Trustees member and past President. First Bank is the generous sponsor covering the cost for all the food and drinks for the evening; this is their 23rd consecutive year of sponsoring this event! Catering this year is by Pitchfork Fondue, and will feature bison chili with bison generously donated by Jackson Fork Ranch. There will also be a book signing from 6-8PM by Ann Chambers Noble for her new Arcadia book, "Sublette County," featuring many never-before published historical photos of the county.
Anyone who would still like to donate a hand-made wreath or chocolate in this year’s auctions is asked to contact the Museum ASAP to let them know your contribution is coming (307-367-4101, info@mmmuseum.com), and to bring wreaths to the Museum this week, no later than 5PM on Thursday, December 5th, so they have what they need to hang your wreath in the display lineup. Chocolates and cookies need to be brought to the Museum by Friday, December 6th, no later than noon. Even though the Museum is closed for the season, staff is still inside working - call ahead to let them know you are coming by with your wreath.
Everyone is invited to this fun, traditional get-together and event to kick off the holiday season and help support the local Museum.
