Smoky August skies

Smoke drifted into the Upper Green River Valley on Thursday morning, August 17th. The smoke is from wildfires in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Canada.
Moister weather is predicted to move through the area over the next several days with breezy conditions and chance of thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures will be in the 70Fs and nighttime lows in the 40Fs around Pinedale.
There currently are two small fires on the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The .20-acre Mount Nystrom fire was started by lightning in late July burning in the Bridger Wilderness on the Pinedale Ranger District. There are no trail or area closures associated with the fire at this time. The .10-acre Rock Springs fire was also started in late July and is burning on the Jackson Ranger District. It has low spread potential.
Fire danger is rated High on the Bridger-Teton National Forest. There are no restrictions currently in effect.
