Green River Rendezvous 2018 July 12, 2018 Green River Rendezvous Days kicked off with a re-dedication ceremony Thursday morning for the 50th anniversary of the Trappers Point monument historic site. The site has been completely renovated by the Sublette County Historical Society which runs the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale. The finale of the event was a surprise appearance by a band of mountain men who rode their horses whooping and hollering up the steep hill from the rendezvous grounds up to the gathering. They gave away special commemorative medallions made especially for those who attended the event. "The Greeting" is a re-enactment of a scene in an Alfred Jacob Miller painting of mountain men greeting the rendezvous supply train. |
