Tip Top assists Fremont with successful rescue
by Sublette County Sheriff’s Office
August 3, 2015
On Sunday, August 2 Tip Top Search and Rescue was requested to assist Fremont County in rescuing an injured female in the Upper Silas Lake area. The female had sustained injuries from a horse fall that would not allow her to walk out on her own. According to Tip Top SAR coordinator, Kenna Tanner, due to the location and injuries, Tip Top’s Short-Haul team was activated and flown to the scene with Sublette County’s leased helicopter. The female’s condition was assessed and she was packaged for extrication via short-haul. The patient was safely flown to an awaiting Fremont County Ambulance with the help of three Tip Top SAR volunteers.
This is the ninth mission to date this year, and the second short-haul extrication of the season. Sublette County has signed agreements with several neighboring counties for use of the leased helicopter when not deployed for a Sublette County emergency. It was instrumental in assisting Teton County with the recovery of the three missing sisters in the Granite Creek area early last month.
