Care-giving for Dementia Patients talk Nov. 13

Sublette County Rural Health Care District and St. John’s Medical Center invite the public to a talk about "Care-giving for Dementia Patients" on Thursday, November 13th. Dr. Martha Stearn, Cognitive Health Specialist, will be the featured speaker. There will be two presentations, the first in Marbleton in the morning, then another later in the day in Pinedale.
Topics include An overview of Dementia; Problems facing lay and professional caregivers; Preventing the lay caregiver's biggest problem: burnout; Ways to deal with the behavioral issues in dementia; The role of medication for caregivers and dementia patients. A Question & Answer period will follow each talk.
The talk in Marbleton will be at the Southwest Sublette County Pioneers Senior Center from 10-11AM. Then Dr. Stearn will travel to Pinedale and give a presentation at Rendezvous Pointe Senior Center from 1-2PM. Lunch in Pinedale from noon to 1PM at Rendezvous Pointe free to those attending the seminar.
