On May 7th 2012, Pinedale’s own Children’s Discovery Center broke ground on their new Outdoor Classroom.
The purpose of the Outdoor Classroom is to increase the quantity, quality, and benefit of outdoor experiences for young children in their early childcare, pre-school, and summer program. The classroom was designed by Nature Explore a collaborative program of the Arbor Day Foundation and Dimensions Educational Research Foundation, and is being built by Peterson Landscaping of Pinedale.
We are forever grateful for funding and support from Sublette County, the Town of Pinedale, our Discovery Center parents and various individuals in the community who are helping to make this dream a reality for our kids at the CDC.
In the future, we hope to make the classroom available to our Grandma’s and Grandpa’s at the Senior Center so that they too may enjoy the outdoors in a safe, secure and accessible location.
Grand opening ceremonies will be Friday, June 8th for our Pre-Schoolers’ graduation. If you have any questions or would like to donate to our Outdoor Classroom, please contact Ana Cuprill amcuprill@gmail.com or CDC director Catelin Hakiel at the Children’s Discovery Center 307-367-6272.
