Winter Storm Watch for southwestern Wyoming
Including Big Piney, LaBarge and Farson

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Winter Storm Watch which is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through late Tuesday night.
Snowfall will quickly develop across southern Wyoming early Tuesday morning and may become steady and heavy at times through the rest of Tuesday and Tuesday night.
Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches could fall in western Sweetwater County as well as across the southern Green River Basin including Rock Springs, Green River, Farson and La Barge. 2 to 3 inches of snow may fall across eastern Sweetwater County.
Northeast wind will increase to 20 to 30 mph with some gusts to 35 mph in eastern Sweetwater County by Tuesday evening. These winds may produce considerable blowing and drifting snow reducing the visibility to one quarter of a mile or less at times along Interstate 80. The winds in western Sweetwater County and in the southern Green River Basin will only blow at 5 to 15 mph with an occasional gust of 25 mph.
Highways will likely become slick and snow covered during the morning on Tuesday and will remain that way through Tuesday night. The road conditions along Interstate 80 in eastern Sweetwater Xounty may become especially hazardous with the poor visibility and cross winds in addition to the slick road conditions. Blowing and drifting snow will not be as prevalent across western Sweetwater County and in the southern Green River Basin where the wind speeds will be less.
