In Pinedale in June 2 by Wyoming Game and Fish May 24, 2010 CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is holding public information gathering meetings and has opened a comment period to gather public input on these proposals: changes to license issuance regulations, 2010-2011 mountain lion seasons and rules governing contested cases before the Game and Fish Commission To comply with federal child support enforcement law, the Game and Fish is proposing to require individuals provide their Social Security number when purchasing or applying for Wyoming hunting and fishing licenses beginning in 2011. The Social Security number will not be printed on the license or be available to the public. All states have been subject to this federal law for many years, but Wyoming was issued an exemption through 2010 as the Game and Fish developed its computer generated license system. The department is also proposing to only issue the federal Harvest Information Program or HIP permit through the Game and Fish website and not from over-the-counter license agents beginning in 2011. Starting in 2011, residents can begin applying for elk, deer and pronghorn licenses Jan. 1 if applying through the Internet. Various other minor modifications to the license issuance regulation are also being proposed.
