Join Museum of the Mountain Man and the Wyoming Archaeology Society for a community discussion about artifact protection, including excavation and conservation, on the Pinedale Anticline.
Representatives from the Bureau of Land Management, Current Archaeological Services, Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office and Office of the Wyoming State Archaeologist will discuss artifact collection laws and the process behind discovery and excavation of an archaeological find. You’ll learn about significant finds on the Anticline and archaeological aspects of the permitting and excavation processes as they relate to natural gas development.
This will be the inaugural meeting for the Sublette County chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society: "Meetin’ on the Green". In addition, representatives from Museum of the Mountain Man will share details on plans for their expansion.
Ultra, Shell and Questar will sponsor the event.
