Rock Springs man killed in roll-over accident

Rock Springs resident Robert W. Routh, age 24, was killed on Monday, June 22, as the result of an accident on the Daniel-Merna Road west of Daniel.
According to a release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the crash happened approximately four miles from the end of the State maintenance of WYO 354 on County Road #112 approximately 19 miles West of Pinedale in Sublette County. Routh was alone driving eastbound in a 2002 Chevy pickup truck around 2:55 PM. He was attempting to negotiate a curve in the road when his vehicle went off the roadway. The vehicle rolled 2-½ times coming to rest on its top. During the rollover Routh, who was not wearing his seat belt, was totally ejected from the cab of the pickup. He died at the scene. He was the only person and vehicle involved in this accident. At the time of the crash the roadway was dry and weather conditions were clear. The road is paved at the location of the incident. Troopers investigating this crash are looking at excessive speed as a contributing factor.
