Southwest Wyoming High School Honor Band and Choir
Local musicians participate

On Monday and Tuesday November 17th and 18th, 20 Pinedale high school musicians participated in the annual Southwest Wyoming District High School Honor Band and Honor Choir. These students practiced with other musicians from the area schools for two days at Kemmerer High School and performed a concert on Tuesday night in the Kemmerer School Auditorium. They were selected from nominations sent in by the directors from the nine schools participating in this clinic/concert.
The all district honor choir was directed by Dr. Kevin L. Brower who is the chair of the Department of Music at BYU-Idaho. The all district honor band director was Dr. David Wells-director of the Keith Stein Blue Thunder Marching Band and also director of the Boise State athletic bands.
Pinedale members in the Honor Choir were Kathryn Konicek, Ashlee Anderson, Brindi McGinnis – sopranos; Autumn Millard, Mariah McKay, Jennifer Pape, Haley Ivie – altos; Dyson Winters, Gordie Banks – tenors and Ryan Rohlfs - bass. Pinedale band members selected to the Honor Band were Elise Sterck – flute, Kelsi Dean and Kassey Braun– clarinet, Andi Noble and Lizzy Cooney– alto saxophone, Elisa Lowham – oboe, Casey Terrell and Josh Abel – trombone, Spencer Bernard – French horn and Gus Holz - trumpet.
Elise Sterck, Andi Noble and Lizzy Cooney were selected to play solos with the Honor Band as well as Mariah McKay sang a solo with the Honor Choir.
These students are under the direction of Gena Anderson – Pinedale High School choir director and R. Craig Sheppard – Pinedale High School band director.
Schools participating were Lyman, Mt. View, Evanston, Cokeville, Jackson, Kemmerer, Star Valley, Big Piney and Pinedale.
