DHL closes Wyoming offices
Offices in Wyoming and Montana
June 26, 2008
DHL Express, the package delivery service, has announced they are closing their independent contractor offices in Rock Springs and Casper, Wyoming. They also plan to close all seven independent contractor offices in Montana. The closures will be effective June 27.
According to a company spokesperson, the closures are a cost-cutting measure for the final leg of their delivery services. Rather than using independent contractors for the final delivery distances, they will use the United States Postal Service to deliver inbound packages to home and businesses. Packages already in the system as of that date will continue to be delivered until June 20th. They will still offer one-way shipping to this region. Customers wanting to ship packages out will have to drive to a DHL pickup point. These points have not yet been announced.
DHL provides global express, air and ocean freight, overland transport delivery services working in more than 220 countries and territories world-wide and employing over 160,000 workers.
