Price of oil drops, gas prices go down a bit
Oil price sinks on jump in gas inventories

Oil prices lowered a bit today after a government report indicating an increase in gasoline inventories, according to news reports. U.S. light sweet crude for October delivery lowered by 35 cents to $67.15 a barrel, from $67.60 before the Energy Information Administration report was released. Total motor gasoline inventories reportedly rose by 700,000 barrels last week, putting reserves at the above average level for this time of year. Distillate fuel inventories also rose and are expected to continue to rise.
Locally, prices for regular unleaded and diesel fuel did lower a bit from last week to this, but are still above the Wyoming and national average prices for fuel.
The price for regular unleaded gas in both Pinedale and Big Piney/Marbleton averaged $3.00/gallon this week, a drop of 6-9 cents per gallon in the county from last week. Sublette County prices for regular unleaded are still about 6 cents higher than the average in Wyoming and 27 cents a gallon higher than the national average this week.
Diesel prices are running around $3.54/gallon in Sublette County this week, a drop of 7 cents a gallon in Pinedale, but remaining the same as last week’s diesel price in Big Piney/Marbleton. This week’s Pinedale diesel price is approximately 19 cents a gallon higher than the Wyoming average and 50 cents higher than the national average price per gallon.
