Attention Photographers! Wyoming Wildlife is accepting submissions for their annual photo contest. Winners will have their photographs published in Wyoming Wildlife magazine and top photos will get monetary awards.
Wyoming Wildlife magazine is the award-winning magazine of the Wyoming Game & Fish Department. Over the years it has garnered more than 40 national awards and is known for excellent writing and wonderful photography. The four-color magazine is devoted to highlighting Wyoming's wildlife and wild places. There are 12 issues per year.
First through third place and honorable mention are awarded in wildlife, scenic/pictorial, recreational and flora categories. Photographers have a 20-entry limit. Photos must be taken in Wyoming.
The grand prize or best photo of the entire show will be awarded $300. First place in each category receives $150, second $100 and third $50. Winning entries will be featured in the February 2006 issue. Noteworthy entries that do not place will grace the annual April essay issue.
The preferred, and smallest slide format, is 35 millimeter. Prints must be 8-by-10 inches. Digital formats are accepted, but editing must be limited to traditional printing techniques such as altering saturation and contrast, burning, dodging and eliminating dust spots. Images in which content is added, eliminated or rearranged will not be accepted. Deadline for submissions is 5 pm, Thursday, December 1st.
