Rendezvous Parade
July 9, 2005
Each year Pinedale celebrates the Green River Rendezvous with a colorful parade down Pine Street on Saturday morning. This year the beautiful warm weather brought out a huge crowd.
The local Pinedale volunteer fire department brought out their shiny fire engines, the rodeo royalty dazzled the crowd with their smiles, the cast of the elaborate Rendezvous Pageant appeared in costume. There were horse-drawn covered wagons, 4-wheelers, golf carts, Shriner’s mini-cars, haying equipment, tractors and fancy floats. Sheriff’s department officers walked down the street and handed out candy to the little ones.
Street vendors sold cool drinks and delicious-smelling BBQ dishes. Kids pulled wagons filled with ice and bottled water for the thirsty crowd standing in the hot sun. After the parade was over, the crowd enjoyed walking down the street shopping at the wide variety of local street vendors selling crafts, jewelry, pottery, clothing and many other items.
