Snowshoe Biathalon Having Fun

The annual Green River Valley Winter Carnival has something for just about everyone. This year was the 4th year for the event. The aim of the Winter Carnival is to "lighten up the dark depths of winter with some crazy, fun, and cabin fever-busting events".

Saturday’s events took place at the rodeo grounds south of Pinedale. Events for kids included the "White Out Kid's Winter Olympics", the "Snowshoe Biathalon", the "Iditakid Dog Sled Dog Race", the "Pack the Kid Up the Hill" sled race, the "Mountain Boy & Girl Arm Wrestling Tournament", and the "Jack Frost Frozen Money Scramble".

The Winter Carnival was organized by the Pinedale Roundup. Their staff, and many volunteers, helped make the event lots of fun and a great success again this year. Additional stories, photos and race results will be printed Thursday in the next edition of the Pinedale Roundup newspaper.
