About the Position:
This is a ranch hand job that will assist with all ranch hand duties, including maintaining the land to ensure it is presentable for guests. Our ranch is a diverse and dynamic operation that generates revenue from bison, haying, horse breeding, VRBOs, and conservation for tourists. We are committed to sustainable practices and providing a unique experience for our visitors. Responsibilities will grow with the role.
Responsibilities:
Lift and carry items weighing at least 50 pounds.
Operate large machinery safely and efficiently.
Repair and maintain fencing around the property.
Work in harsh weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
Collaborate effectively with other team members.
Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude.
Prioritize the needs of the ranch over personal interests.
Perform daily tasks: feeding, watering, fence maintenance, landscaping, and general property upkeep.
Maintain and organize ranch buildings, pastures, barns, and roads.
Operate equipment like pickups, trailers, and tractors.
Snow removal and hay/feed management.
Assist with the care of animals and oversee their well-being.
Additional duties as required to support ranch operations.
Requirements:
Physical strength and stamina.
Experience with operating large machinery.
Basic knowledge of fencing repair.
Ability to work in challenging weather conditions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
A collaborative and selfless attitude.
Experience with horses and ranch operations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Cooperative demeanor and cheerful outlook.
Valid drivers license with a clean record.
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
Additional Skills:
Previous experience as a veterinary technician or farrier is a plus.
Mechanical or handyman skills.
Enthusiasm for learning new skills.
