This image was taken at the lower overlook on Skyline Drive. The picture is highlighted by the Milky Way (middle left) on the move as the sky rotates. It was exposed for 36 minutes using a Canon 40D, 17-40 L Series lens at F4.0. I wanted to get an exposure of an hour on this photo excursion, but didn't quite get it done, due to the first attempt being aborted at 26 minutes, and the lateness of the hour. But, the effect of the rotating stars around the North Star (Polaris) and the Milky Way make this a dramatic picture. We'll try for an hour again before the winter is over./djb
