There are a bunch of Great Blue Heron nests on the ranch. When George Meeks, Ranch Foreman, came by to work on irrigation water, all the Blue Herons departed their nests. So, we waited for them to return, which they did within a few minutes. Watching these huge birds land in a tree, and a nest way up in a swaying cottonwood tree is truly a site to see. It literally doesn't look possible.
