"Big Girl". Thanks to an invite from Jacque Sez Stayhealthystaysafe I had the good fortune to meet and spend time with noted falconer and eagle pilot Mark Hurd and "Big Girl" on Saturday. The goal was to hunt rabbits and give Big Girl some flying time. Yesterday, no rabbits were to be found, so they got lucky. But meeting this awesome creature which was injured and rehabilitated (legally), and now in the possession of Mark was amazing to watch. Trust between this man and this magnificent creature was incredible as they worked as a team in the field looking for a meal. Very cool experience! Big Girl is about 9.5 pounds, approximately 3 1/2 years old and has a wing span of between 5-6 feet. She was injured in Idaho and found on the ground, where she had been for about ten days.
