Ptarmigan Lake With Switchbacking Trail


The Ptarmigan Tunnel trail gains about 2,300 vertical feet in three distinct jumps. The first 500' comes immediately right out of the valley floor, then somewhat level. The second jump is about 800' to Ptarmigan Lake, and then a final 1,000' bump to the Tunnel. It's a very pleasant 2,300 vertical feet.
