Changing Sun Angle


As the sun makes its long journey toward Summer Solstice (Tuesday, June 20) the sun angle changes significantly, which provides light on the Wind River Mountains at different angles. As an example, on Dec 21, (Winter Solstice) the sun set at 226.9 on the compass. Today it set at 268.5 and on June 20 (summer Solstice) it will set at 292.7. Pick a landmark and watch the horizon from day to day and week to week and enjoy its annual journeys./djb
