Pinedale Medical Clinic - Expected completion: November, 2007

New Pinedale Medical Clinic:
Construction on the new Pinedale Medical Clinic began in September, 2006. The foundation and preliminary groundwork have been completed. Construction is presently shut down for the winter, but delivery of the structural steel is expected by February 15th, and construction will resume some time after that.

The building will be 14,757 square feet. It will have all the services of the current clinic, plus a state-of-the-art Urgent Care area. There will be observation beds and quarters for on-call staff. It will have expanded offices and exam rooms for visiting physicians. This will allow room for orthopedics, OB, urology and others who bring their practices to Sublette County. The building was designed for the future growth of the community.

Staff will continue to be primary care physicians: Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics. All will expected to have current certification in trauma, cardiac, basic and pediatric life support, as they do now. Anyone hired by the District will be expected to have sufficient experience in "frontier" medicine to fit into our unique situation. To the best they are able, the Clinic will continue to provide some translation services for non-English speaking patients. Hours are still to be determined, but the facility is designed for extended-hour schedules. There will be a new helipad for LifeFlight helicopter transports.

The architect is Davis Partnership, from Denver, Colorado. They have designed over 200 similar clinics. The general contractor is G.E. Johnson, also from Denver. A formal bid process was undertaken to make sure that as many local subcontractors as possible could be brought into the project. Only a handful responded, mostly due to the scope of the project. Those are set to begin work when construction resumes.
