Pinedale  Bike Path

The Pinedale Bike Path is a 3 mile long, 6 - 8 foot wide asphalt walking path for non-motorized recreation such as walking, jogging, biking and roller-blading. The trail is plowed in winter to provide a safe walking surface.

The path begins next to Pinedale Cemetery, across the road from the softball fields on Fremont Lake Rd. The route follows the west side of the Fremont Lake road for approximately 2 miles, then turns northwest on County Road 23-101 past the Pinedale Gun Club shooting range, then up and over the Pinedale Glacial Moraine Ridge to the CCC Ponds parking lot south of Fremont Lake.

BIKE PATH USE
Please be considerate of other bike path users:

  • Horses are not allowed, except to cross the bridge across the Highland Ditch. The asphalt path is not designed to carry a horse's weight.
  • Please keep pets on leashes for the benefit of other users and the abundant wildlife in the area. Wildlife/dog encounters can cause serious damage and are illegal. In the case of moose, the damage may be to your dog.
  • Clean up after your pet. The path is swept weekly but this maintenance is not intended to replace your common courtesy.
  • No motorized vehicles of any kind are permitted on the path.

Future plans for the bike path:

The Sublette County Recreation Board and Bike Path committee hope to extend both ends of the bike path in the near future. The south end of the path will extend from the ballfields to the town of Pinedale. The northern end of the path will connect with the paved Forest Service road (#749) skimming the southern shore of Fremont Lake. These extensions will make it possible to safely bike or jog on a continuous path between Pinedale and Fremont Lake.
